Tent Trailers are often the first RV people purchase because of their low cost to get started. These little gems are lightweight, making them ideal for smaller tow rigs. Their low profile and small size make them easy to maneuver. It was cool to be able to sneak our Jayco in places where no other RVs could go.
After our years of "tent camping" we were pleasantly surprised to learn that a Tent Trailer could provide the amenities of a bigger RV without the price tag. Ours had a propane furnace, small icebox, gas range and a sink. If you really want to go uptown you can get them equipped with AC, gas refrigerator, and a toilet.
What's this have to do with Toy Haulers? I'm getting there.
Since most Tent Trailers have fabric walls, nasty weather can make you feel as though you've set up in "tornado alley," but that's only an illusion. We found ours to be quite weather proof and cozy. Other than the sound of nature trying to relocate you and your trailer, this can be quite soothing after a long day of riding.
There are things to be aware of when you own a Tent Trailer. The canvas/fabric does not like to be stored wet. If you had to quickly pack up and head home because of a rainstorm, then you will need to set it up and completely dry the trailer as soon as the weather allows. The bed is often 3 to 4 inches of foam and usually feels as though you are sleeping on bricks. We bought one of those foam egg crate toppers and found that it actually helped a lot. And privacy? Don't turn on a light while it's dark outside, or you will cast a silhouette that you may regret!
So just what is a Toy Hauler Tent trailer? When you look closely you will find they are little more than a run-of-the-mill Tent Trailer on a large flat trailer. On the plus side, Toy Hauler Tent Trailers store the toys and their smells outside the living area. As an added bonus you'll see that the platform performs double duty, toy storage and patio. What a wonderful place to perch and watch the action. Be sure to raise your drink to those passing by.
Now, let's suppose for a minute that your idea of a playground is way out in the sand dunes or up some forbidding 4X4 road. You will need something a little smaller with great ground clearance. I found just the ticket! How about something with a cook top, a couple of beds, and is quick to set up, say in about 5 minutes flat?
Then take a look at the "Jumping Jack." I crawled all over this one at our local RV show. We're talking about a lot of steel and very rugged construction. Expedition West has a great review with lots of photos and a short video on this great little trailer. If you have a Jeep Wrangler or similar and plan on heading to the outback, this may be your Toy Hauler of choice.
In my opinion, a Toy Hauler Tent Trailer can get you into the action cheaply and comfortably.

There are new crazes in the fashion world all the time and latest one to smack on to UK scene is the brand of watches, Toy Watch and their particular product Toy Watch Fluo.
Essentially, they are a fairly low-cost version of a Rolex with a hint of Swatch in there too. They have the fashion credentials of being Italian designed, and by designers who are passionate about ostentatious watches.
Toy Watch use the impressive Miyota Quartz Movement (mechanical and wind on kinetic energy from your movement) and have been described by Toy Watch stockists as "indispensable" and "pioneering". They are built using a variety of materials like the classic that is steel to the strong and light Plastermic, such as with the Toy Watch Fluo.
They have also been making a big stir on the celebrity scene with a number of high profile celebrities having been spotted wearing them including Madonna, Al Gore(!) Lily Allen, Heidi Montag (to name a few) and most notably Oprah Winfrey who on her annual Favourite Things Christmas show, made a point of highlighting Toy Watch models as hits with her. It wasn't in fact the popular Toy Watch Fluo that caught her attention, but the Crystal and Coloured Crystal models.
Of the Toy Watch she said, "I loved mine so much, I wore it just about every day on my big road trip with Gayle".
It makes no surprise that this one comment and promotion of Toy Watch has sent us "ordinary folk" crazy for it, as we respect the views of mega-celebrities and don't want to be seen as a sheep that is not following the flock!
Perhaps I am looking at this to cynically? They are good watches and I admit they do look good too!
I think part of my issue, is the influence of celebrities on the rest of the Western world, which I have never thought as proactive on their part. The other part of the issue is the statement they make regards money and status, which is summed up the best when looking at their range, which is aptly named the "Money Collection".
Better than the Toy Watch Fluo, this collection associates the image of its new Money Collection to a universal symbol: the dollar. Obviously synonymous with u, power and the supposed ultimate goal in man's quest for happiness, and it is this iconography that I have a problem with.
However, there is another side to Toy Watch and they cannot be blamed for the workings of our society. They have created a Limited Edition watch for charity; Keep A Child Alive (KCA), which have the words 'Time To Love' on the back and about 50% of the profits from each sale will go to KCA - you can't argue with that.
Despite all the hype though, are they all that?
Well probably not in the scheme of world peace; but if you want a cheaper alternative to what would normally be a very expensive collection of cogs and springs; are fashion conscious and occasionally would like to know what time it is, then the Toy Watch and especially the Toy Watch Fluo would probably be the one for you.

Now this may go against some of those old mindsets that girls play with dolls, boys play with trucks and so on. Think about this. Do men cook? Do woman drive trucks? Do men help raise kids? Emerill certainly didn't become a famous chef because he thought kitchens were for girls. If you're little boy asks for a toy kitchen and you are a little uncomfortable about it, I would like to give you a little food for thought before you make your final decision.
The most important thing is both boys and girls love them. My daughter had a toy kitchen when she was younger and when my nephews would come over it was one of their favorite things to play with.
Dual roles in today's society
As most of you know there has been a big shift in the family structure in today's society. With many families having both parents working, it has become necessary for men to take on roles that in times past were thought only to be the woman's roles. It's not uncommon for a man to cook dinner for the kids and take on some of the cleaning and laundry tasks, while his wife is working. How about single men and divorced men? That's where my response to this question comes in. Why wouldn't you buy your boy a toy kitchen if he wants one?

Creative play has an important role in children's development. We should encourage our kids to use their imaginations. Kids seem to do this naturally. They put on capes and pretend they're a super hero. My kids use to set up camp in the house and pretend they were out in the woods camping. These types of activities are fun things that play an important role in our children's lives. With all the interactive gadgets and sounds found in toy kitchens now days, the sky is the limit when it comes to our kids imaginations.
Toy companies are manufacturing toy kitchens now that are geared to both genders. You can still buy cute frilly kitchens with flowers and such for your little girl. The good thing now is if you want to purchase a toy kitchen that you feel more comfortable with for your boy there are plenty of nice ones on the market.

The Mind Flex is designed in a way that really does echo its technologically advance entertainment value. The console itself is sleek and futuristic and comes with some great sounds and lighting.
The headset could be better in terms of comfort and looks and I'm sure that will be something that will be improved upon in later versions of the game, but the current headset really is fine for its intended purpose and does the job without problem.
